Technologies using highly corrosive media (raw materials) require the use of stainless steel installations, which are characterized by high corrosion resistance, very high strength and good susceptibility to cleaning.

Another advantage is the ability to operate in a wide temperature range – pipelines should ensure reliable operation of technological equipment at extremely different parameters, for example, at negative or elevated temperatures, under elevated pressure or in vacuum.

Of particular importance in industry are installations for the storage or transfer of ultrapure media, such as pure oxygen, and their proper preparation before commissioning is a priority. The surfaces to be cleaned may contain post-production contaminants: oils and fats from machining, metallic dust and areas discolored during welding (welds and SWC – heat affected zone).

Cleaning is carried out in one or more stages, depending on the type of metal used and the contamination to be removed. Treatment of the surfaces to be cleaned usually consists of degreasing, but may also include etching and passivation.
