Ecol at KIOGE 2026 in Kazakhstan – discussions on maintenance, data and AI

Representatives from Ecol took part in this year’s KIOGE – Kazakhstan Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference, one of the most important events in the oil and gas sector in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The few days spent in Almaty provided an opportunity to meet with clients, partners and representatives of local industry, as well as to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the areas of maintenance, reliability and lubrication management.

KIOGE – a key meeting place for the oil and gas industry

KIOGE is one of the most important events for the oil and gas sector in Kazakhstan and across Central Asia. Held in Almaty, the trade fair and conference has for years brought together representatives of companies involved in the extraction, processing and transport of oil and gas, as well as suppliers of technology, services and solutions for the industry.

The event combines an exhibition with a conference programme, creating a space not only for the presentation of products and technologies, but above all for direct business discussions. For companies interested in the Kazakh market, KIOGE also offers an opportunity to gain an understanding of local needs and to establish relationships with companies operating in the region.

Ecol on the data that underpins AI in maintenance

One of the highlights of this year’s conference was the presentation by Wojciech Majka, CEO of Ecol, during a session dedicated to practical examples of digital transformation in the Oil & Gas industry.

The presentation, entitled “The Missing Data Layer: What Predictive Maintenance Needs Before AI”, addressed one of the fundamental challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence in maintenance – the quality and availability of data.

AI offers enormous potential in the field of predictive maintenance; however, the effectiveness of such solutions depends on the data on which they operate. Before advanced algorithms, predictive models and automation can be introduced, it is essential to get the basics right: the unambiguous identification of equipment, the documentation of field operations, data on lubricant consumption, inspection results, technical condition monitoring and laboratory analyses.

Wojciech Majka pointed out that this is of particular importance in the areas of lubrication management and reliability management. Thousands of routine tasks carried out during machine maintenance can become a valuable source of data for predictive systems – provided that this information is properly organised, assigned to the correct equipment and placed within the context of its operational history.

The presentation also referred to the ICML 55.1 standard, which concerns lubrication management.

discussions on cooperation in the Kazakh market

For Ecol, participation in KIOGE was, above all, an opportunity to hold direct discussions with industry representatives. Meetings with end-users and local companies provided a better understanding of the needs of businesses operating in the oil & gas and energy sectors, and helped to identify areas where Ecol’s expertise can be translated into concrete solutions.

Ecol took part in the event as a partner specialising in the maintenance of petrochemical, energy and fuel plants. The discussions held during the trade fair mark the start of further activities – including follow-up contacts, technical visits and work on potential projects.

Ecol on the international market

Participation in KIOGE forms part of Ecol’s expansion of its international operations and the development of relationships with partners and customers outside Poland. Our company offers solutions to support maintenance operations in industrial enterprises, including, amongst other things, lubrication management, diagnostics and the sale of oils and greases, as well as the cleaning and maintenance of machinery and installations.

We would like to thank the organisers of KIOGE, all those who took part in the meetings and discussions, and the Ecol team for their active participation in the event. We believe that the contacts made in Almaty will mark the beginning of further joint projects in the Kazakh market and across Central Asia.
