Extension of the scope of accreditation of the Ecol laboratory

Thanks to the expansion in the field of testing of electrical insulating liquids, we now have the widest range of accredited parameters in Poland.

expanding the scope of accreditation

The scope of accreditation of Ecol Laboratory No. AB 1564, has been expanded to include a number of determinations related to the testing of electrical insulating liquids.

Methods included in the scope of accreditation dedicated to electrical insulating liquids include tests for water content, acid number, furan content, free and dissolved gas content (DGA) or flash point tests, among others. Our electrical insulating liquids laboratory has the widest range of accredited parameters in Poland..

Meeting the requirements of the accreditation standard PN EN ISO IEC 17025:2018 02P and PCA documents confirms the technical competence of the Ecol laboratory, and proves that we obtain reliable and precise test results and interpret them correctly. We ensure continuous improvement, impartiality, quality and repeatability, measurement consistency, which is confirmed by the Polish Accreditation Center.

Thanks to the expansion in the field of testing of electrical insulating liquids, we now have the widest range of accredited parameters in Poland.

testing of electro-insulating liquids

Testing of electrical insulating liquids is a common method of assessing the condition of power equipment, primarily transformers, but also chokes, transformers, switches, circuit breakers and other devices that have “oil” type insulation. The ability to carry out diagnostics on a running electric machine while maintaining voltage by properly taking an oil sample, analyzing it and interpreting the results saves time and resources.

Full diagnostics includes three key aspects of testing, the results of which complement each other:

Diagnostics that provide reliable information facilitate sound security and asset management decisions. Accreditation is objective proof that we operate in accordance with best practice.

The new accreditation document, along with the full range of characteristics and methods tested, is also available on the certificates tab.

accurate diagnostics and monitoring of transformer operation

Proper diagnostics and monitoring of transformer operation require good quality test results. They are the ones that provide accurate tracking of changes and enable trend analysis.

Implementation of work in accordance with ISO 17025 and confirmation of the laboratory’s technical competence through accreditation means:

  • reliable and precise results of analysis and research
  • Repeatability and stable quality of testing, controlled by a certified third party
  • International recognition of procedures and test results
  • ability to compare results with other accredited laboratories

Performing proper diagnostics of transformer operation by analyzing dissolved gases in oil (DGA) evaluates both the resulting concentration values and their trends over time. Only results of sufficient quality can be compared and the conclusions drawn from their analysis are correct. Accreditation is objective proof that we operate in accordance with best practice.

PN EN ISO IEC 17025:2018 02P standard

PN EN ISO IEC 17025:2018 02P is an international standard that defines general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The standard describes the standards that laboratories should meet to ensure the reliability, precision and reproducibility of test results and calibrations.

The standard is important for laboratories because it defines the standards they should meet in order to obtain accreditation and a certificate of reliability. It also provides guidance on quality management, documentation, personnel competence and other key aspects of laboratory operations to ensure the quality and consistency of test results and calibrations. The standard is used worldwide and is an important benchmark for laboratories to ensure the quality and reliability of their services.
