    • Method description:

    PQ Index – Particle Quantifier Index – a quantifier of ferromagnetic particles. The measurement is based on the phenomenon of magnetic field distortion.



    Interpretation of results:

    The test allows the measurement of the content of all magnetic particles (ferromagnetic) in lubricants, regardless of their size. It is complementary to the measurement of iron content [ppm] obtained by atomic emission spectroscopy (AES met ICP or RDE). The higher the PQ index result, the more magnetic particles in the oil or lubricant sample and the higher the probability of intensive wear processes in the equipment.
