Method description:
The test consists of determining the minimum ignition temperature of the oil in the closed crucible, using an ignition initiator (here an electric igniter inserted automatically).
Interpretation of results:
A drop in flash point can report dilution, mixing and phenomena associated with cracking (breakdown) of intermolecular bonds.
