  • Standards: PN-ISO 13357-2
  • Unit: no unit – dimensionless number being the ratio, expressed as a percentage, of the volume (stage I) or flow rates (stage II) at specified intervals
  • Oil quantity: 300 ml
  • Application: turbine oils, hydraulic oils up to ISO VG 100
  • Scope of designation: 1-100



    • Method description:

    The test consists of filtering an oil sample through a membrane with a porosity of 0.8 µm and recording the duration of filtration of specific volumes.

  • Filtrability grade I – concerning volume
  • Filtrability stage II – concerning flow rate



    • Interpretation of results:

    For scores above 50 the oil is filterable, the closer to 100 the better. Below 50 the oil is considered non-filterable. For a passed grade I, no filtration problems are expected assuming filtration without the use of fine filters. For passed grade II, no problems are expected even with absolute filters below 5 µm.
