Method description:
The test consists of filtering an oil sample through a membrane with a porosity of 0.8 µm and recording the duration of filtration of specific volumes.
Interpretation of results:
For scores above 50 the oil is filterable, the closer to 100 the better. Below 50 the oil is considered non-filterable. For a passed grade I, no filtration problems are expected assuming filtration without the use of fine filters. For passed grade II, no problems are expected even with absolute filters below 5 µm.
