How can steam turbines be cleaned effectively without opening their casings? At a power station in Turkey, Ecol carried out a chemical foam cleaning of two Siemens SST-700 turbines. A total of over 323 kg of deposits was removed from both units, and a marked improvement in key mechanical parameters was observed following the cleaning.
