Ecol is a sponsor of the Robotic Tournament 2026

We are supporting young engineers at the Robotic Tournament 2026 – an international robotics competition featuring 339 participants and 440 robots.

Ecol sponsors the Robotic Tournament 2026

Our company has become a sponsor of this year’s edition of Robotic Tournament 2026 – one of the most recognised robotics events in Poland. Once again, the tournament brought together enthusiasts of new technologies, designers and young engineers, who competed in numerous challenges, showcasing their original solutions and programming skills.

This year’s edition attracted huge interest. The event drew as many as 339 participants, who presented 440 robots, representing teams from six countries. The scale of the tournament underscores its international character and its growing importance on the European robotics scene.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas, and to promote science and modern technology. Our company’s participation as a sponsor is part of Ecol’s efforts to support technical education and the development of future engineers’ skills.

the main events

Participants competed in a range of categories – from classic to more advanced:

  • LineFollower – the robot follows a route marked by a black line in the shortest possible time.
  • LineFollower for LEGO – the same competition, but the robot is built exclusively from LEGO bricks.
  • LineFollower Turbo – an advanced version of LineFollower, requiring faster and more precise solutions.
  • Sumo – the robot pushes its opponent out of the ring; strategy and strength are key.
  • Sumo for LEGO – a version of Sumo restricted to LEGO constructions (max weight 2 kg, dimensions 20×20 cm).
  • MiniSumo / MicroSumo / NanoSumo – smaller sumo robots, requiring precise control and weight optimisation.
  • RoboDragRace / RoboDragRace for LEGO – robot races on a straight track; acceleration and control are key.
  • RoboStrong – robots compete in a tug-of-war; the balance of speed, torque and weight is crucial.
  • RoboStrong for LEGO – a version of RoboStrong built from LEGO bricks.
  • Freestyle – any robotic designs presented by participants, judged on creativity and innovation.

about Robotic Tournament

The Robotic Tournament is an event with a long-standing tradition. The first edition took place on 17 March 2009, organised by Krzysztof Piontek under the name “Follow the Line”, and featured just one competition. Over the years, the tournament has grown rapidly, introducing new categories such as Minisumo and Sumo.

From the very beginning, the event has been organised at the Technical School Complex in Rybnik, known among students as “Tygiel”. The school’s history spanning over 60 years, combined with its technical facilities, makes it the ideal venue for hosting the tournament, which attracts participants from all over Poland and abroad every year.
