Method description:
The test consists of filtering 100 ml of the oil to be tested through a filter membrane and assessing the oil’s purity class using a microscope, either manually by an experienced laboratory technician or automatically.
Interpretation of results:
Microscopic examination of the cleanliness class is characterised by low inference; in addition to determining the cleanliness class, it gives a realistic interpretation of the origin of the particles in the oil (wear metals, seal materials, ambient dust, etc.).
