The name comes from the Greek \u03bc\u03cc\u03bb\u03c5\u03b2\u03b4\u03bf\u03c2 molybdos \u2018lead\u2019, literally meaning \u2018similar to lead\u2019.<br>\n<b>Molybdenum<\/b> in its pure form is a\u00a0silvery-white, extremely hard metal that <b>has one of the highest melting points of all the elements<\/b>. Even in small quantities, it significantly improves the properties of the steel \u2013\u00a0increasing its chemical resistance and hardness, while reducing brittleness.<br>\n<b>Zastosowanie:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49 More than 2\/3 of molybdenum production is used as an additive in alloys (in combination with chromium it makes a\u00a0lightweight and very strong material). Molybdenum is used in high-strength and high-temperature steels. Some alloys are particularly resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. <\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49 Molybdenum is also used in the aerospace and defence industries, as well as in the manufacture of incandescent lamp components, as a\u00a0tungsten filament support. Molybdenum complexes are used as a\u00a0catalyst in the petroleum industry, particularly in the removal of sulphur from petroleum products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49 In a\u00a0diagnostic analysis of the elements contained in oil, molybdenum is included in the category of additives as, among other things, a\u00a0viscosity modifier and as a\u00a0PD (plastic deformation) additive or EP (Extreame Pressure) anti-seize additive, however, as a\u00a0component of alloy steels in correlation with metallic elements such as iron, chromium or nickel, it may indicate increased wear processes in the lubricated components of a\u00a0particular piece of equipment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49 MoS2 (molybdenum disulphide) \u2013\u00a0is a\u00a0solid additive (black powder) that improves lubricating properties mainly in gear oils intended for use in heavily loaded systems.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t      <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
