They mainly contain anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion additives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">General performance characteristics and requirements for turbine oils include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post__list post__list--nonordered\">\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">appropriate viscosity characteristics at a\u00a0given temperature,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">thermal and oxidation resistance (prevention of oxidation products and deposits),<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">protection against rusting and corrosion,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">deemulsifying properties,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">good water- and air-holding capacity,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">low propensity to foam,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">high flash point,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">\noil purity,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">compatibility with seals and other turbine construction materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">A characteristic feature of turbine oils is their \u2018longevity\u2019. <b>The average service life is several to several years!<\/b><\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t oil condition \u2013\u00a0what to test?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">Oil properties inevitably degrade during operation due to the operating conditions. <b>Oil degradation is a\u00a0normal phenomenon<\/b>, therefore, proper monitoring procedures are essential to determine the condition of the oil in service, assess its suitability for continued use and, where possible, intervene when parameters deteriorate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">It is recommended that full laboratory tests include the determination of the following parameters:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post__list post__list--nonordered\">\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">visual assessment of appearance,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">colour,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">viscosity and viscosity index,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">purity class,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">acid number,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">water content,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">air release capacity,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">water-secreting capacity,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">oxidation (IR spectroscopy test),<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">oxidative Not less than once a\u00a0year!<\/h3>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">Routine analysis of the turbine oil in broad, in-service operation is carried out at least once a\u00a0year \u2013\u00a0irrespective of how long the turbine has been in operation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">Smaller ranges are used at quarterly or monthly intervals. In special cases (e.g. very low anti-oxidation reserve of the oil and inability to stop the turbine), the testing times and ranges are selected individually.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">More frequent oil testing may also be advisable in the following cases:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post__list post__list--nonordered\">\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">prolonged downtime or turbine overhaul,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">oil change or total oil change,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">ongoing operational problems,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">oil parameter The authors point out that although engine oil and coolant are essential for engine operation, they should not come into contact with each other. Element of the month<\/h3>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\"><b>Antimony (Sb Latin Stibium)<\/b> \u2013 is a\u00a0silver-white semi-metal with a\u00a0crystalline structure that is easily powdered. In nature, it occurs as a\u00a0sulphide and as a\u00a0common impurity in quartz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">It is used in printing and bearing alloys and as a\u00a0hardener in lead alloys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">In the diagnostic analysis of elements contained in oil, antimony is classed as a\u00a0wear metal, although it is quite rarely detected in this test. If it does occur, it is usually in correlation with lead, tin and copper as an alloying element in plain bearings or solder binder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">In the form of sodium antimonogluconate, it is used in pharmacotherapy. Historically, a\u00a0so-called \u2018perpetual pill\u2019 was used to induce diarrhoea \u2013\u00a0a\u00a0small ball of antimony which, when swallowed, caused a\u00a0\u2018violent purging of the bowels\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t      <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t      \t\t\t\t\t      <\/div>\n                \n          \n        \n      <\/article>\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<div
