Element of the month<\/h3>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">Hydrogen (H, Latin: hydrogenium) is a\u00a0colourless and odourless gas, the most widespread element in the universe. Currently, it is also a\u00a0promising energy carrier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">Thanks to its properties \u2013\u00a0very low density and viscosity and high specific heat and coefficient \u2013\u00a0it is used as a\u00a0cooling gas for generators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">It dissolves in some metals and diffuses readily through some metals, porous bodies and rubber. Forms many chemical compounds, the most abundant of which are hydrocarbons, including oils.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">Hydrogen is one of the key gases studied in electro-insulating liquids (DGAs).<\/p>\n<p class=\"post__paragraph\">Its concentration in the oil and its relationship to other combustible gases enables the diagnosis of thermal defects and discharges such as:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post__list post__list--nonordered\">\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">partial discharge,<\/li>\n<li class=\"post__list-item\">overheating over a\u00a0wide temperature range,<\/li>\n<li
